San Francisco

Lyrical Opposition was initially formed as a hip-hop group in San Francisco, CA on December 1, 2006. It has since then been incorporated as a California 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Organization on June 12, 2015. Being previously headquartered in the South of Market and Bayview-Hunters Point, Lyrical Opposition now operates its corporate address and principal office at their original location in the Excelsior District of San Francisco, CA and their new location at 1557 Sunnydale Ave. Lyrical Opposition currently does most of their programming and events with their active partnerships with The Hub SF, Mission Blue at 99 Leland, Kairos Fellowship in the Bayview, and the Baylands on Bayshore in Visitacion Valley.

Brisbane

Lyrical Opposition operates a recording studio and nonprofit record store in Brisbane called Lyrical Vinyl. All records and merchandise are donated from locals or bought at wholesale from other small businesses. Lyrical Vinyl was inspired by the movie and show, High Fidelity, with the purpose of preserving music and culture, as well as being intentional about opening our doors the community. The record store is currently closed and will reopen in San Francisco, CA in Fall 2026.

San Bruno

Lyrical Opposition has entered into a collaborative partnership with Atelier for Healing to document the journey of over 30 artists in residence at The Shops at Tanforan. Lyrical Opposition has signed a lease agreement for a podcast space and art gallery at 1150 El Camino Real, Suite 204 to be able to share stories from artists and community members in the City of San Bruno and broader San Mateo County. Atelier for Healing’s mission is to make art a pathway to healing and well-being. By making creative expression more accessible to the public, Atelier for Healing aims to nurture mental wellness and inspire personal growth.
