Live at the Baylands: Reflect the Times
An Evening of Art, Awareness, and Atmosphere
On a beautiful summer evening, The Baylands transformed into more than just a backdrop—it became a stage for voices rising up to reflect the times.
Live at the Baylands, presented by Lyrical Opposition in collaboration with The Web of Artists and Visitacion Valley Connections, was more than a performance—it was a gathering of spirit, art, and community. Set against the natural stillness of the wetlands and the warmth of the setting sun, artists from across the Bay Area stepped forward to share lyrical reflections on the current moment—our struggles, our resilience, and our hopes for what’s ahead.
The event featured a lineup of spoken word artists, emcees, and storytellers who brought their rawest truths to the mic. Each set wove together themes of justice, identity, faith, and transformation—inviting the audience not just to listen, but to feel, to pause, and to process.
Families, friends, and fellow creatives came out with picnic blankets and open hearts. The sound of music and truth echoed into the twilight, while food, conversation, and community connection filled the space with life. It was a reminder that art doesn’t just reflect the times—it helps shape what comes next.
Live at the Baylands: Reflect the Times was a celebration of lyrical arts rooted in justice, honesty, and healing. Special thanks to our collaborators at The Web of Artists and Visitacion Valley Connections for helping bring this vision to life. And to all the performers, volunteers, and attendees—thank you for showing up and sharing the moment with us.
Together, we are building something meaningful—one verse, one voice, one gathering at a time.
