YBCA finished administering funds for the Artists Power Convenings in Fall of 2022. Lyrical Opposition were Third Round Recipients and were awarded $2500 in support of a virtual or in-person convening(s) designed and implemented by Lyrical Opposition.

The Artist Power Convenings were a community investment strategy to build the capacity of artists and artist-led organizations in service of their communities.

With the Artist Power Convenings, YBCA wanted to support artists getting together, virtually or in-person, to imagine, create, and lift up each other across our region. As the first initiative of its kind at YBCA, the program continued to evolve in order to better serve Bay Area artists and artist-led organizations.

Brisbane Poetry Night, Brisbane Poetry Exhibition, and Brisbane Poetry Reading and Mixer were supported in part by an investment through the Artist Power Convenings program at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.
